Mosquito Control
Why You Need Mosquito Control
Not only are mosquitos a familiar and obnoxious pest to deal with, but they also have the potential to carry dangerous viruses such as Zika, West Nile, Yellow Fever, and others.

Things To Know
Knowing something about mosquito development will assist your efforts in prevention. From egg to adult all mosquito species go through four distinct stages.
- Egg – hatches when exposed to water. (Even the lid of a water bottle!)
- Larva – this alien-looking worm stage lives in water, some species “swim” up to breathe air.
- Pupa – non-feeding stage just before emerging as adult.
- Adult – Adult emerges and flies as soon as its wings dry.
The first three stages occur in water, but the adult is an active flying insect. The female mosquito requires a blood meal to lay eggs, (usually from 100-200) she will deposit them near water, soil, or moist cool areas. Eggs may survive in dry conditions for months until they receive enough moisture to hatch.
From egg to adult is 2-3 weeks depending on the available moisture. For this reason, a timed, recurring treatment control strategy is required.
